RESOLUTIONS OF LASUMA GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON THE REPORT OF SHURAH FOR THE SELECTION OF NEW EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR 2026-2028

Assalam Alaykum Waramotullah Wabarakatuh Dear Great LASUMA Members,

Alhamdullillah Robil Alamin.

1. This is to communicate the resolutions and final decision of the General Assembly (GA) of Our Great Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) on the approval of the Shurah Committee report submitted and earlier ratified by the Executive Council, having passed through the LASUMA Advisory Council and Board of Trustee (BOT).

2. The approval came after the motions for first and second approvals were moved by Prof (Assoc) Hakeem Akintoye and Imam AbdulAkeem Oshodi at the LASUMA 2nd Quarterly meeting held today Yaomul ahad 13th Muharam, 1448, Sunday 28th June, 2026.

3. Find included the report as presented by the Secretary of the Shurah Committee, Com. Muhammed Oluwaseun on behalf of the entire Shurah Committee members:

4. The GA further approved the immediate need to fill the vacant positions of treasurer and internal auditor possibly with candidates that have already faced the Shurah or females or professionals from the general members.

5. Furthermore, since the tenure of the outgoing Executive Council Members will lapse on the 13th July 2026, Sunday July 12th 2026 was approved as the transition/ handing- over to the incoming Executive Council Members.

6. All LASUMA members are hereby enjoined to grace the transition event at the main campus of our alma mater, Lagos State University, Ojo by 11:00 am prompt as presented by the Co-Chair, transition committee, Alh AbdulLateef Onibudo.

7. While wishing the new/ incoming Executive Council Members the very best, the GA appreciated the outgoing Executive Council Members with words of encouragement from the Chief Imam of LASU and LASUMA BOT member, Prof. Kudus Amuni, and LASU Muslim Community Chairman, Prof. BR. Yusuf amongst other eminent LASUMA members.
